WE CAN HELP

Are Dry Eyes Affecting Your Day?

Dry, burning, watery, or irritated eyes can be surprisingly disruptive. Whether it’s reading, working on a screen, or wearing contact lenses, dry eye symptoms can make everyday tasks uncomfortable.

Dry eye is one of the most common conditions we see, but it’s also one of the most misunderstood. There isn’t just one cause and there isn’t just one solution.

At Vista Eyecare, we focus on finding why your eyes feel the way they do, so we can treat it properly, not just temporarily.

LEARN ABOUT

What is Dry Eye Disease?

Dry eye occurs when your eyes don’t produce enough tears or when the tears you do produce aren’t of good quality.

Your tears are made up of three layers that work together to keep your eyes comfortable, clear, and healthy. When any of these layers are disrupted, symptoms can begin.

Common Symptoms

You may be experiencing dry eye if you notice:

  • A gritty or sandy feeling
  • Burning or stinging
  • Redness
  • Watery eyes (yes, this can be dry eye)
  • Fluctuating or blurry vision
  • Sore or tired eyes when working on screens
  • Mucus or discharge
  • Light sensitivity

What Causes Dry Eye?

Dry eye can be caused by a number of factors, including:

  • Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD)
  • Blepharitis or eyelid inflammation
  • Aging
  • Hormonal changes
  • Screen use and reduced blinking
  • Certain medications
  • Autoimmune conditions
  • Contact lens wear
  • Previous laser vision correction

Our Dry Eye Assessments

Instead of guessing or trying random drops, we start with a focused dry eye assessment to understand what’s actually happening with your tear film and eyelids.

During your assessment, we will evaluate:

  • Tear film quality and stability
  • Meibomian gland function
  • Eyelid health and inflammation
  • Contributing lifestyle or environmental factors

From there, we build a personalized treatment plan based on your specific needs.

Dry Eye Assessment Cost: $150

In-Office Treatments

ZEST Eyelid Treatment

ZEST (Zocular Eyelid System Treatment) is a gentle, in-office cleansing treatment designed to remove buildup along the eyelids and lashes.

Over time, oils, debris, bacteria, and microscopic organisms can contribute to irritation and inflammation. This treatment uses a natural, okra-based gel to safely exfoliate and clean the eyelid margins.

Benefits:

  • Reduces irritation and redness
  • Improves eyelid hygiene
  • Supports a healthier tear film
  • Enhances comfort for contact lens wearers

The treatment is comfortable, takes about 15 minutes, and has no downtime.

Cost: $125

Warm Compress + Meibomian Gland Expression

This treatment focuses on improving how the oil glands in your eyelids function.

We begin with a therapeutic warm compress to soften the oils, followed by gentle expression to release blockages and improve flow.

Benefits:

  • Improves tear quality
  • Reduces dryness and irritation
  • Relieves burning, fluctuating vision, and gritty sensation
  • Supports long-term gland health

Some patients may feel mild pressure during treatment, but it is quick and effective.

Cost: $75
