If you, like me, wear contact lenses most of the time you may have choked on your morning coffee a couple of weeks ago when Canadian national news outlets began running articles like this one instructing contact lens wearers to switch to glasses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Blue light blocking lenses are probably the hottest trend in eyewear right now. All of the Tom Ford frames we carry are coming from the factory with blue light blocking demonstration lenses already in them, and ads for non-prescription blue light blocking glasses are everywhere. But are these lenses just about fashion or are there some tangible benefits to wearing them?

Contact lenses are a great way to correct vision without having to wear glasses. They can provide freedom of movement and clear vision, but contact lenses do come with some additional responsibilities. One of these responsibilities is properly caring for your lenses, which, if they are reusable, includes regularly disinfecting your lenses between wears.
